What's your character's name? And how did you choose that name?

Everett "Red" Smith. Both his first and nickname are named for two of my great uncles, although this Red is called so for a very different reason. Everett also worked since it was more common in the late 1800s, the time period when my character lived.

Describe your character's appearance.

He's 6'1", around 200 lbs. with straight black hair and one brown eye and one blue eye, which makes for a disconcerting stare. He has a refined physique from spending most of his time in the saddle and by necessity of his profession.


What does your character usually wear?

Red’s usual uniform is a pair of well-worn black riding boots with a nickel buckle on each outer side, a pair of black tucked-in trousers and his two pistols strapped to either thigh. He has a preference for a snazzy black vest over a button-up white shirt and when outdoors he will wear a military looking gray overcoat. Since Red spends most of his time outdoors, an unadorned, midnight leather hat is practically glued to his head. The use of so much black clothing is deliberate on his part to make sure people immediately get the impression that he is bad.

Describe your character's personality. How do they act around friends? Around strangers?

Making others uncomfortable is almost a hobby for him. When idle, Red is eerily still, except for his eyes which are constantly observing his surroundings. He is surprisingly graceful, though, and one onlooker was foolish enough to ask if Red was a dancer. After losing a dozen teeth and enough blood to notice, the man recanted.

He has many acquaintances, business associates, employers, admirers and enemies but no one is counted as a friend. Red drinks alone and he will die alone.


What about your character's love life?

Red doesn't settle down.

All deceased.


Does your character have a special power, or ability?

He has no supernatural abilities, just the heightened and honed skills that come from years of tracking down men.

Can your character fight? If so, with what?

Yes. Red's guns are extentions of his hands but he is just as deadly with his fists.

Is there anything unusual about your character?

Depends on what you consider unusual.

Anything left to say that may have been left out?

He is a very intelligent person but both the lack of educational opportunities and a penchant reacting physically rather than verbally gives the impression he is just a brute.
