I've recently become mildly obsessed with The Films, which is a band from the UK I believe. Unfortunetly for me, Ruckus only has their EP and I'm dying to listen to the full length album but too much of a miser at the moment to buy it. Gah, I suck.

On a different note, there is some buzz about an article that appeared in a University funded newsletter thing called The FlipSide called "Sexual Depravity" that made a rape joke at the end. I'm personally conflicted because I really believe in the right to free speech for everyone. That said, I do believe his article qualified as "obscene" because I could not see any true literary value and that is the current standard (in a very basic sense) in US law.
Frankly, the newsletter and the author are not handling the situation well at all; neither will take responsiblity or give an apology for it, which would have been the mature response. All they had to do was say something along the lines of "This article was not meant to be serious or taken seriously and we apologize for anyone who was offended by it; we did not mean it in that way." Not that hard, eh?
